Spiritual and social awareness have become prevalent and it is important that we teach ourselves and our children how to connect our bodies to our minds and hearts.

Meditation    The practice of meditation is an ancient Eastern tradition and has been around for over 2500 years. There is no other technique that so simply brings us into our bodies. With clear and simple instruction, I will teach you meditation. I will guide you through the practice and share insights that I have learned through my own practice. I will support you in your journey as you begin to cultivate your own awareness and empower yourself. This process is compassionate, gentle and humorous and proves to be most effective when guided by a teacher. You will develop kindness to yourself through this practice.

Chi Kung    The practice of chi kung has also been practiced for over two thousand years. It is a gentle form of exercise that strengthens joints. muscles, tendons and bones, nourishes internal organs, stimulates the circulation of energy in our body, and enhances mental clarity. Chi Kung not only maintains physical and mental well-being for healthy individuals but is an excellent way to gently introduce mobility and relaxation to persons who have physical challenges. I teach forms that are easy to follow and very effective. You will develop relaxation through this practice.

Somatic Experiencing®    The practice of somatic experiencing begins with tracking sensations throughout your body and using your curiosity to explore them. This technique allows you to let go and release any tensions that have built up in your body that you may not necessarily recognize otherwise. I guide you through the process of tracking to help you release your tightness and anxieties. You will develop awareness through this practice.



Shanly Weber, founder of SHIFT: Embodying Awareness, has been practicing and teaching meditation for over 30 years. She studied with Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche, Pema Chodron and Tsultrim Allione as well as many others. After she received 1000 hours of Chi Kung Healing and Healing Touch training, she did her apprenticeship with Damaris Jarboux at the Body –Energy Center. She also trained in Dr. Peter Levine’s work Somatic Experiencing and has incorporated this into her private practice. Shanly is also an avid athlete, yoga practitioner and community volunteer. Her expertise is integrating mind and body practices and making them accessible to everyone.
